Apply spread master to single master

I want to apply a 2 page spread master to a single page master. When I try, the left side of the spread is applied to the single page master. Is there any way to make the 2 page spread apply the right side of the spread instead.

Do I just move everything or is there a special way to do this?

Can I resize the design elements that span across the 2 page spread without breaking the applied master?

It is the nature of the beast.

Easiest way around this is to copy the Right Hand page items from the double page master and then just paste and place them into the single page master.
