pummelfee Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 I mainly work on the Mac, but i would like to go more often with the iPad pro. When i open a document on iPad in Photo or Designer, most of the time i did not have the fonts installed that are used. the workflow is: 1. click on all strange looking textboxes to see what fonts are missing in each one 2. note these font names 3. add the fonts in the Designer or Photo preferences (have them stored in alphabetic folders on miy iPad) 4. watch the installed font list growing larger and larger because no suitcase or fontxplorer app exists... 5. going back to my Macbook beeing a bit frustrted How do you manage fonts? Is there a chance that i could reduce these 5 steps a bit? Quote
DM1 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Have a look at Fonteer. One of many font installer / managers for iOS that creates font profiles. Fonts added this way are available to all apps, not just affinity. Fonts are managed in editable folders. Removing a font from iOS is as simple as deleting that fonts 'profile' in setting. Adding it back is just a matter of opening Fonteer, accessing the font folder and tapping install. It also has a search for fonts feature. There is a freebie with limited font installs so you can try it out. The full app is only a couple of bucks. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
