Sue Designer
Hello, I work on a business card in Affinity Designer. Settings: Print -> Business Card, Color format: CMYK/8, Color profile: U.S Web Coated (SWOP) v2 by default. My problem is that I see other colors in Affinity Designer during editing and other colors in the PDF after exporting. Exporting settings: Preset--> PDF (for print), Raster DPI: 300. Why can this be? What else is the correct color setting besides CMYK? (My laptop display is color calibrated. Could this be the reason?) So, here is my project in Affinity Designer (just color): And, the exported file in pdf format (Microsoft Edge):
firstdefence
I’m on Mac so I don’t have MS Edge but maybe Microsoft Edge is rendering the image with a different profile? Try opening in a different web browser, Opera is a very good browser, or PDF viewer like Acrobat Reader. Upload the exported PDF and lets see if we see what you see. h_d
Hi @Sue Designer and welcome! I'm a bit out of my depth here, but a quick skim through Google suggests that MS Edge is isn't properly colour managed. What happens if you open the pdf in Firefox? Edited October 4, 2020 by h_d Changed "is" to "isn't". Derrrr..... Sue Designer
@firstdefence Thank you very much your fast answer. Problem solved. I downloaded Acrobat Reader and I saw the same colors as in Affinity Designer. :)) Do you have a suggestion on which photo viewer is the best for Affinity Photo? By default, photos open in MS Photos app on my laptop.
Sue Designer
Hi @h_d and welcome. Now Acrobat Reader seems to have worked. Much better than MS Edge. Aaand, I see the same in Chrome as I do in AD. I still learned something new today. Now I’m just looking for a good photo viewer for Win 10. Thank you very much for your help @firstdefence and @h_d h_d and firstdefence
firstdefence
Hi Sue, Take a look at XnViewMP I’m sure there will be other suggestions but try it and see if it suits your needs.
