Heiko Schindelmeiser Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Hi everybody, I've been using affinity for a while and it works fine for my needs. Yesterday, I encountered a problem I need some help on. I created the logo for one of my company's in Photo for about six month ago. I've been updating photo regularly and have no idea what version number I had during creating the original file. Yesterday I reopened the photo file for some work and encountered that the font i used was gone in the current version I'm using. I've changed the computer for some month ago but I'm 100% sure I was only using fonts who came with the program. I did not make any notes of what the fonts name was as I took for granted that I always can go back to photo and find it there... So, my question is: Does fonts have dissipated for some reasons during updating av photo and how can i find the missing font if I not want to search all free font sites on the web? Attached you can find a picture of the logo. thanks in advance and all the best from Sweden. Quote
GarryP Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Welcome to the forums @Heiko Schindelmeiser The Affinity applications don’t install any fonts, so any fonts you use in them will have been installed by something/someone else. (If you purchased one or more of the applications from the Serif store then there are some bonus fonts available to download but you will need to do this yourself, they are not automatically installed.) When you open an Affinity file the application should, if the machine you are using does not have one or more of the fonts the document needs, temporarily display a little pop-up (top-right-hand corner) telling you that some fonts have been substituted (you need to be quick to spot it). Publisher has a way for you to review substituted fonts but I don’t think you can do the same in Photo (someone else may be able to advise better on this). Note: If you get desperate, you can install the trial version of Publisher but you will only be able to do this once and it will stop working after 10 days. Quote
