Hey all,

Quite new to Affinity, love it.

Last week I was messing around with various things on an image and I got this slightly noisy feathered edge on the photo. I like it and want to repeat it on a new piece, but can't for the life of me remember which option I used to do it. Can anyone help? See the grainy edge on the BW photo here.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums, @chymera !    Did you by any chance use the Eraser Brush Tool with a grunge selection and paint over the top and right hand edges?

That looks decidedly like the live diffuse filter, not to be confused with the Live Diffuse Glow filter.

Actually I think it’s the Live Add Noise filter because of the colour noise.

The live filters which are non-destructive are found on the layers panel. They also have filter cousins that can be accessed from the Filters menu, these are destructive filters.
