CarlosDavid.ca Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Hey Guys So I'm trying to transition over to AF Photo from PS. I shoot model portfolios mostly (IG, Suicide Girls, Onlyfans etc..) as well as classic portraiture, and I'm just frustrated with PS at the moment. Liquify constantly freezing in PS and crashing. Unfortunately I installed the AF Trial last week but then didn't get to it till this Friday and my trial expires today :-( I've gotten used to the small differences with using the tools , and frankly I have to say I'm impressed so far with one big Caveat. I can't get liquify to work the same way it does in PS. When I use the push tool in PS I get a very smooth circle or ellipse even as I continue to push on the line, while in AF Photo I get jaggies and I have to constantly vary the size of the tool to get anywhere near the same smooth curves. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I watched all the YouTube videos and searched the forums but couldn't find anything specific to my issue, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated Quote
GarryP Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Welcome to the forums @CarlosDavid.ca Since you seem to have a specific problem it might be good if we could see the problem for ourselves. A video would be good but, failing that, a full-screen screen-grab showing us the Push Tool as you are using it would be useful. The more information we have, the better we can help. PaulEC Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 It does seem very difficult to get the same smooth effect in AP that you get with PS. I don't use it that much, but I think it just comes down to practise and getting used to it working a bit differently. You can get good results with Liquify in AP, but it takes time and practise. AffinityJules Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 This tool can be a nightmare. Expanding the size seems to make no visible difference to the area you're trying to liquify. It's a bit strange to use, but good luck with it. Yet another tool in need of a decent overhaul. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe. These are not my own words but I sure like this quote.
wonderings Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I think you can install the demo again if you download it under a different email. I could be wrong on this, but if you had another email this may be a way to use the demo now that you actually want to try it out. CarlosDavid.ca 1 Quote

Unfortunately this isn't true, our trial versions are system specific and if you try and install a new trial version, it will be detected that you have already used the trial on this computer and you will be prompted to enter a product key to unlock the software, my apologies. If you do have access to another computer, you can download and install the trial here using the same email address account that you used originally. Alternatively, you can purchase the app from the Affinity Store and continue to 'trial' the app for up to 14 days, where we can offer a full money back guarantee if the app isn't right for you. I hope this clears things up! CarlosDavid.ca 1 Quote
