ed209
I need to trace round a football shirt to create a vector to send to my computerised mount cutter SVG file. My question is if I only trace half the shirt can I mirror the vector and join to make one continuous vector

firstdefence
Yes, you can duplicate the half you have traced, and flip it. At the moment Affinity doesn’t have the ability to position an axis to flip around so once you have flipped the duplicate you will need to move it into place and Geometry: Add There is a pseudo flip axis that can be used, you draw out a circle and nest the duplicate layer and flip the circle, then un-nest the duplicate layer to have it flipped over like the page of a book. Duplicate nested under the circle layer This has actually been flipped but the nested layer thumbnail doesn’t change until you un-nest the layer then it will flip Like so... Now you can Geometry: Add the shapes together Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... Pšenda
You can try to use Symbols for what I wrote above. Before Duplicate make Symbol, Symbol copy, Mirror, shift. Then you can fine-tune the shape of the Symbol so that both sides match the original as closely as possible (so that there is no large deviation on one side). ed209
Thank you very much for taking the time to explain with as much detail as you have. I will have a go tomorrow l initially thought It would be a simple process that would be intuitive 😀
