warriorbride731 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I would like to cut a word out on wood with my Glowforge yet I realized that the word is pieced out by individual letter and is not a fluent piece. So the glowforge would cut the letters individually instead of one fluent word. Can you tell me how to make the text one fluent word in affinity designer ? I am attaching my project file so maybe you can do a tutorial for me.... 20 x 12 Monogram Sign.afdesign Quote
GarryP Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Welcome to the forums @warriorbride731 This will be dependent on what you mean by “fluent”. If you want the letters to be ‘joined together’ so that they are all one shape then there will be lots of ways to do what you want. One simple way would be to convert the text to curves, then add a rectangle, then use the Add Geometry function to create one shape from everything, see attached video. There will probably be better ways but it really depends on exactly what you want and how the letters originally look (I don’t have the font you used so I can’t see how the letters look in your example). If you can give us more details – and show us what the letters look like – then I’m sure someone can come up with something suitable. 2020-09-27 08-57-44.mp4 Quote
