Delete a portion and then resize

How do I delete a portion in the middle of the photo  (text for example) and then adjust or resize?

I would like to delete the view all flights etc and resize

Easiest way would be to draw a rectangle around text and fill with white sampled colour. Then rasterise/merge the layers.

What are you wanting to adjust or resize?

Do you mean going from this

to something like this

(i.e. making the ‘View all flights...’ text appear transparent so that objects on lower layers show through) and then resizing the text ‘holes’ in some way?

When I use the world delete I mean to remove or cut it out from picture! I don’t know how it will look with transparent!

The simplest way to delete it visually is to cover it with a rectangle whose fill is the same colour as the background.

In other words, go from:

 

To something like:

If so, you can make a marquee rectangle selection of the area below the part you want to delete, Cut, then Paste to get that part as a new layer, and slide it up to cover the part you want to delete.

Ok this sounds like a great idea, but then I will have this great gap or space in between! How do I bring  closer the lower portion to top portion?
