Files not opening properly

This has happened twice to me since the new update in which I try to open a RAW file and I receive this message (See photo attached). I’ve been able to open other raw files perfectly and it seems that I can get around the problem by sharing the files to Affinity Photo via the Documents app.

Hey Nomah,

Is this a NEF? If so, there's a known issue where opening it from Photos can cause the JPEG preview to open, as opposed to the actual raw file. Sorry. I will update our bug report once you have confirmed.

Yes it’s an NEF RAW file. It’s been happening to many  but not all of my RAW files.

Is there any way around this? I have projects due and I can’t find a replacement app that’s as powerful

The issue "NEF opens pixelated from Photos" (REF: AFP-3370) has been fixed by the developers in build "2.2.0 Release".
This fix should be checkable in the current customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
