rageix
As the title suggests, whenever I change the foreground color in the Color section, Afinity Photo tints the current layer with that color. According to the History tab it is running a 'Set fill' command whenever I change the foreground color. How do I stop this from happening? walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @rageix. It sounds like the current layer that you have selected may be one marked as (Image) rather than one marked as (Pixel) in the Layers panel. I believe you have only two choices: Do something to deselect that layer. Click somewhere outside that layer in the workspace, or use Select > Deselect (Ctrl+D or Cmd+D, depending on your OS). Rasterize the layer (right-click on the layer in the Layers panel, choose Rasterize..., or Layer > Rasterize.... An (Image) layer, unlike a (Pixel) layer, will have its Fill adjusted if it is selected when you change the foreground color, much as if it were a vector object. rageix
@walt.farrell Appreciate the answer. You are correct it is an Image layer, I created a new file from File->New From Clipboard after taking a screen shot on my system. Rasterizing the layer, thus turning it into a pixel layer works as expected. Thanks!

Toan Lish
Just wanted to add that you can uncheck the "Apply to Selection" option of the color picker to disable it auto tinting the image.

That's true, thanks, and good information. But it's for a different situation than we were discussing. The discussion was about problems when changing the color via, e.g., the Color panel. The Color Picker wasn't involved.
