Hey everyone,

I have been using AD for 6 months or so now after transferring from Adobe Fireworks (rip haha). Found it an amazing program however I am stuck on one thing.

I am creating screenshots for an app our company has developed. I'm trying to get the frame/outline of the phone that we can place over screenshots so it looks like they are running on the device.

So I have imported a stock photo of the device, and created a shape which I want to remove.

I have tried putting them in different orders/hierarchy in the layers panel, I've tried fiddling around with the Geometry tools in the tool bar and I've tried masking however I only ever come up with the two results below:

What am I doing wrong?

I'm sorry for the simple beginners question, however I have checked all articles, support forum and youtube tutorials and I can't work out what I'm doing wrong thanks!
