Email address change and product key question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

thanks for the great product! I am using photo & designer for windows. In the next days my mail address will be changed and i do not renew my old domain.

To install affinity it is required to use the mail address and the product key.

Two questions:

- is it possible to change the mail address which i am using to register the product?

- how to avoid the restore (if possible) of the product key if someone is getting my old domain and send mail to the support?

Regards,

Marco

@MarcoG

For security reasons the email address you use when you place your order is permanently linked to the license this can never be changed. The only time you will need to enter this though is when you install the software.

You can however change the email address you use to sign into your Affinity Store account.

Sign into your Affinity Store account by clicking here.

From the Affinity Account page click Account Details. In the Personal Details section enter your new email address and press Update Details. You should receive the message "Your details were updated". You can now log into the Affinity Store with your updated email address.

Hope I can add here since it's sort of on topic:

So I have bought Affinity Photo with aaa@aaa.com (a sort of free email). I understand, that I need to use it when I install Affinity Photo to a new PC.

Now I changed my mail on the order website to bbb@bbb.com - so when I buy i.e. Designer and/or Publisher, they will be linked to the new email. Will the 3 still work together fine? And what happens in case I lose aaa@aaa.com permanently? Or is "aaa@aaa.com" now more like a userID without any other function?

Your account has an email address that you use to sign in, and to which marketing email will be sent (if you have opted-in to receiving it).

When you make a purchase of an application, the application is tied (forever) to the store account email address that existed when you made the purchase. But that email is used only to validate the product install, and it does not matter whether it remains a usable email address.

If you change your actual email address, it is important to change your email address to the new one in the Affinity Store before you lose access to the old one. That's because if you should forget your password the reset process depends on sending you an email. But the new address will only be used for signing in, and for purchases. It does not affect prior purchases at all.

I moved and have my original disks with product number for Serif Page Plus X9.  When I put the product no. in, it says its the wrong product #.  When I tried to contact support, I gave them my current email address (joesprint1@gmail.dom), they said I have to use the email I had when I installed the program before (joesprin@penn.com)  However, If I use that address and they reply to me, It wimage.png.644523634b9a2a3f60fc3331359a3833.pngill not go anywhere because there is no penn.com anymore.   How do I get a response when I don't have that email anymore???

These forums are dedicated to the Affinity range. For PagePlus and other ‘legacy’ Serif software products, please post to the CommunityPlus Forum.

I recommend that you remove the photo from your post here and refrain from posting it to CommunityPlus, since it shows your PPX9 product key which is personal to you and should not be shared publicly.
