Peter Dexheimer
In Indesign I can create text variables for the header. For example a text variable for my chapter headlines. This way the corresponding chapter headline is always visible in the header when the book is read. In Affinity Design I do not find this function to create text variables. Did I miss that a bit. Thanks for the help Peter
GarryP
Welcome to the forums @Peter Dexheimer You didn’t miss anything; there’s currently no way for the user to create their own variables. In Publisher (not Designer, as Designer was not designed to do long documents) you might be able to do what you want by using Sections but I’ve not used them myself so can’t advise. Maybe someone else will see this and can help.
thatGuy
In Publisher you can use placeholder text in master pages that will be filled with the section the page is assigned to (or whatever data you choose), in Designer you could use symbols but as the app itself isn't ideal or meant for this task the handling here isn't ideal either. 2020-09-22_11-00-00.mp4 2020-09-22_10-57-21.mp4
