Beta 1.9 Grouping Layers not sticking

Recommended Posts

In Layers I can select multiple layers and group them. All looks fine but when I close the app, do something else then come back to it it opens and the group has disappeared.

it’s just unstacked layers again.

There has always been a problem if you task switched or didn’t return to the affinity Home Screen before you closed the app but assuming you do always return to the Affinity Home Screen each time then can’t say I’ve ever seen that problem.

Not seeing that behaviour switching between AP and other apps without first returning to Home Screen. Maybe it a memory issue?

Hi all,

This is not exactly a bug. If you did not go back to the home screen(which acts as a save) or did a manual save, there is a high chance the iPad ram management system will close the app and you will lose any unsaved work. if you did go back to the home screen, and still lost your group, then we have a problem.

Seems to be working now anyway. Must have been a glitch on that day...

Thanks.

  • 1 month later...

Hi, I've just found this thread as I was looking for some help on something weird that has happened...

I worked for hours on a multi-layered file and when I closed and reopened it (and this happened twice) all the separate layers I previously grouped and made not visible have disappeared. There's just one layer only and it's the final image I created with all colour corrections, effects etc. Luckily it's not an important file (it's not work, it if were I'd probably cry) but I've never experienced this in Photoshop. Layers don't just disappear...

Am I missing something (like grouped layers can be found somewhere else) or is this a real bug? I'm still new to Affinity, so perhaps it's me. But if it's a bug it needs to be fixed, it's unacceptable that layers disappear in my opinion 😞

Thanks to anyone who will answer!
