URGENT: Designer backups

If you closed and said "No" to save changes then it's probably gone

If you forced closed the application or the app crashed there may be a recovery file 

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

A little chance still exists if you use frequent auto-backups (as for instance 'time machine' on mac). Then you can find its .autosave file in the according system folder. It's file path depends on your platform and app store type. To open such a file rename its suffix from .autosave into .afdesign.

But if Mike responded "No" when File > Close asked whether to Save, Affinity should have deleted the recovery files.

It's possible it didn't, and if so one might be able to find the right file, rename it (change extension from .autosave to .afdesign), and open it. I have sometimes been successful doing that. On Windows, if Designer was purchased directly from Serif, the path to them would be:

(Press Windows key and R, type %appdata%\affinity into the box, press OK.

Yes, but I would try the Undelete Tool.
