unit of measure

I am having trouble opening PDF or SVG from other designers using other design software. If they are using a unit of measure of mm. If I just open their file that they supply, usually an SVG or PDF, it opens in Affinity Designer as points or pixels. If I then go to change the unit of measure in the document setup from points to mm or inches, the conversion is in correct and the dimensions are incorrect as the original designer had specified. How do I specify the default unit of measure before opening the file? And more so, how do I change the unit of measure to a different unit without making the measurements inaccurate?

You can't do that; there is no Affinity option to change the units before opening the file.

I don't think I understand what you're seeing. How are the measurements inaccurate? Can you provide more details? Can you provide a sample SVG or PDF file that demonstrates the problem?

You can set the number decimals for each unit via app prefs > User Interface ...
