Today I updated both the AMD than the Intel graphic drivers and now the benchmark can't complete its run; Aphoto gets stuck and I have to kill its process through the task manager (tried multiple times).

@walt.farrell can you try uninstalling and reinstalling your NVIDIA drivers (and Intel if possible). Your hardware benchmark is currently running slower than software, so I'd like to rule out drivers first.

They have been uninstalled and reinstalled once already, Mark. But I can try it again. The drivers are very old and nothing more recent is available, as far as I can tell.

Drivers uninstalled and reinstalled. New results are not much better, I'm afraid, but here are 3 runs:

Intel i5 6600K (not overclocked)
Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070
16GB RAM
M.2 SSD
144Hz 1440p Asus monitor
Windows 10

I'm seeing slight improvements in Photo. Tweaking adjustment layers and live filters like Hue or Vignette still a little laggy, but feels a bit better than before.

Designer still performs poorly when dragging objects around. Very choppy. Tools themselves seem better. Drawing objects and adjusting colors or gradients is snappy. GPU usage only jumps up by 5-10% when manipulating objects, but it will gobble up as much CPU as possible until it hits 100%.

Mine didn't look right @Mark Ingram. By default the option "Enable OpenCL compute acceleration" was off in Preferences --> Performance. Is that correct?
I turned it on and now it shows GPU in benchmark.
