AfPub. PDF vs. Screen view ("cloud" frame behind text box)

Hi, once again.

Here's what I see on the screen:

But when I export to PDF (for print; 300 dpi), this is what I see (note the darkened edge around the round-edged frame):

The layer effects are as follows:

And the settings at the top that relate to the frame are these (note that I've tried it with the 0.2 pt stroke both on and off, and I can't even see any difference):

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on here? Thank you very much!

EDIT: And I now see that in the PDF the text has what looks like a white blurred stroke around it, too, but that doesn't show on the screen.

ApPub 1.8.4 on Mac Mojave (10.14.6)

You should just need to type more until the list is short enough.
