Transform kerning instead of Fontsize?

Hello all,

when dragging a text/box the default parameter that changes is Fontsize.

Is it possible to transform the kerning instead?

Are you talking about Frame Text or Artistic Text?

(The answer to your question is "no", in either case, but the font size should not change, usually, when you're resizing the Text Frame for Frame Text unless you use the scaling handle.)

I assume you want to increase tracking, not kerning. As a workaround you can achieve it visually with a paragraph justification setting:

• set the text to "Justified All" (or "Justified")
• set the "Maximum Letter Spacing" higher than zero

Note: This does not alter the tracking values but visually increases the space between characters when the frame gets horizontally scaled.
