mykee
I found a bug in AP, just follow next steps: open a picture select an item with Selection Brush Tool click to Refine in window change Output to New layer with mask, click OK turn on Background, and turn off mask see the results: you get a border (?) around selected area on image. If selected New Layer with mask the duplicated image will not same as Background! Need delete second image, duplicate background, and move mask under this third layer. Please fix this! I attached my screenshot from this "border".
Ron P.
It looks like you did not attempt to Refine your selection. Just going to Refine Selection does not provide the best results. Have a look at the tutorial for this. mykee 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Staff MEB Posted September 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted September 15, 2020 Hi @mykee, This is not a bug - what you are seeing is the treated/decontaminated pixels of the Refine process when you set the output to a new layer (with new mask or not added) - please cheek this FAQ for more details. If you want a clean pixel layer, duplicate the original pixel layer, perform the Refine selection process setting its output to Mask (only) then apply/nest it to the duplicated pixel layer. mykee 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
mykee
MEB, ok, I will use your trick, and not duplicate layer from Refine window. Thanks. I didn't find this solution, and I believed this is a bug. Sorry.
