My screenshot was to confirm that the list of changes provided to the user before performing the update is a common feature of applications and the OS. The form and manner of displaying information is up to the application developer. "Providing this information directly in applications" is meant that Log (information about application changes) made should be provided directly by the application, not through a forum where the user must find it. The form and method of providing this information, whether by link or direct display of text/html in the application, is already up to the developer. Providing a link to the change log web page should work for all versions regardless of the store or OS, & putting it in the Welcome screen groups it with the existing web page links, so it seems reasonable to put it there. But as I wrote earlier, the link should also be available in the Help menu, because the Welcome screen can be turned off. (accessible any time via menu) Furthermore I noticed on a former mac (still v.1.7 installed) that there the update info window already presents a link to the most recent change log: This makes me wonder whether this content was either 'created' by the former app version 1.7.3, or always appears like this and we or just me didn't notice or forgot – or is a fresh improvement, e.g. resulting from this discussion? Also it doesn't offer a button for "Download" but for "Install Update", which would make the procedure easier by reducing required user action (> clicks;-) Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

(accessible any time via menu) Where do you see this in any menu of any Affinity app that was purchased from the Mac App Store? The only thing I see like that for those purchases is in System Preferences > Software Update (not an Affinity menu) & only if the options to automatically download & install app updates are not enabled. If they both are then MAS updates are downloaded in the background & installed on the next launch of that app without user interaction.
