voverora
Hi! I've used Affinity Photo for some years now, and I like a lot! But when I work with some layers, it becomes really slow! Is my iMac to old and slow for the new version 1.8.4? Se my uploaded image below. Thankful for help and advice to fix it! Best regards Vera
Blende21
Do you have an SSD installed, or is it still running on a HDD ? Use an SSD would be my first issue to speed things up, not only the Affinity apps.

Affinity is still slow when I work with more than 4-5 layers. Best regards Vera
Staff Dan C Posted September 12, 2020 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2020 Thanks for confirming that for me, I'd like to try 'flushing' your app of it's cached files to see if this helps. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity: Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. - https://player.vimeo.com/video/189596577/ Please try the above and let me know if this improves performance in the app for you. Many thanks once again
