Change from px to mm (general) & Open EPS with Fonts

Recommended Posts

Hello,

currently i am testing the software. I have 2 questions about Designer:

1. Is it possible to change the unit px to mm General. I mean not in every document with document setting. I would like to open a document and the unit is mm.

2. I saved all my data in EPS. If i open the EPS data in a other program, I can change the font. If I open it with Designer I don´t have a font. I only have a path. Can I open EPS and still have a font in Designer?

Thank you very much for your help.

Unfortunately it's not possible to set a fixed unit in preferences currently, although this is something our devs hope to add in the future.

I believe this depends on the EPS file in question, could you please provide a sample document? What application are you exporting these EPS's from please?

In the attachment 2 files:

1st file: My original data created with AI. If I open it with AI I have "Font" in the file and can change it.

2nd file: PDF was opened with Designer. There I have a font and can change it. If I export it to EPS in Designer and open the EPS later with Designer I have the same problem, that there is no font only pathes.

File 2 created with Designer.eps File_1_created_with_AI.eps

The Affinities always open EPS with text as curves. Perhaps I am the only one who is glad about this, so I can place files from external source without worrying about missing fonts.

What you can do is: A) Save from Illustrator as AI with the "PDF compatible" option or B) Save from Illustrator as PDF.
