Recommended Posts

Hello

Today Affinity photo started crashing whenever i open a RAW (NEF) file, it's opening JPEGs and .afphoto files fine.

Attaching crash report. I also clicked "Send to apple"

I am on MacOS Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2021)

Affinity Photo 1.8.4

Hey nuaimat,

I'm getting the same thing.

For what it's worth, it will open if you change the RAW Engine to Serif Labs form the Develop Assistant (tuxedo icon on the top toolbar).

I will of course pass this back to the developers.

I had to switch to Apple Raw engine because of this issue, and it used to work fine for the past couple of days:

My experience is that it opens regardless of the Raw engine. Mac OS 10.14.6

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) Mac OS 10.12.6 || Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 10.14.6

Affinity Designer 1.8.4 | Affinity Photo 1.8.4 | Affinity Publisher 1.8.4 | Affinity Designer Beta 1.9.0.2 | Affinity Photo Beta 1.9.0.199 | Affinity Publisher Beta 1.9.0.742

Then my gut feeling is that Apple RAW engine has changed behavior in 10.15 (Catalina)

Hi, I am able to open this file without a crash, no matter which RAW engine I use. APhoto 1.8.4.

Cheers, Puck

Hey Puck,

What Mac OS version are you using?

@Old Bruce response above confirmed it's working fine for Mac OS 10.14.6
