Anti Aliasing photos
Hi, I’ve searched (unsuccessfully) for an answer to this for quite a while. I’m editing pokémon go AR photos to make the Pokémon more realistic-looking. The edges of them (since they’re obviously not a real part of the photo) have very jagged pixel edges. I found a tutorial on anti aliasing for photoshop but it doesn’t translate right to affinity. I’ve played around with the Gaussian blur and sharpening tool but it doesn’t work for this. I’m pretty much still a beginner in photo editing, so I hope I’m explaining this correctly. does anyone know how to do this? Help!
firstdefence
Welcome to the forum @Anti Aliasing photos Can you link to the tutorial so we can take a look. For the most part it’s a matter of selecting the object, using Outline from the Select menu to create a blurred edge or selecting the Pokemon, contracting the selection a few pixels, inverting the selection then applying one of the vanity of blurs available. When compositing a photo lighting of the object and lighting within the photo must be very similar else the object will stand out as not being part of the scene, it also needs shadow correctly applied to fix it into the image.
