uberspeck
I have Affinity Designer 1.8.4 installed on my MacBook Pro (Catalina v10.15.6) with no special hardware or software for my display. Also no external display. Every time i try to open a file (Affinity or AI) or create a new file the screen goes completely black. I can use the keyboard command to quit I don't even have a cursor displayed on the screen. If I try switching between virtual desktops the screen stays black/blank but the touchbar changes to reflect the current application for the given virtual desktop. I've used Affinity designer as recently as a week ago and everything was fine. I'm not aware of any software updates/installs since then that could cause this. SPaceBar
Hi @uberspeck Welcome to the Affinity forums! Can you take a screenshot of the spec of your Mac please?: - By Clicking the Apple icon > About this Mac. Can you also take a screenshot of your preferences too please? - In Affinity click Affinity Designer > Preferences - Make sure the Performance tab is displayed.
