page numbers in publisher

Recommended Posts

Having difficulty setting page numbers in Publisher. Have followed the instructions and have # in both type boxes in the spread Master page. No page numbers appear in the pages which I have loaded (96) and I am at a loss

as to how to solve this problem. I have section manager and filled in the appropriate numbers. I want the page numbers to start on page 3 ( as page 1) Is there anyone who has a solution?

Thanks

Norm

Do you have a # in the boxes on the Master Page, or do you have the Field "Page Number" (which would look like a # if you haven't told Publisher to highlight fields)?

As Walt said, did you use the # or the Text > Insert > Fields > Page Numbers and these should go on the master Pages. You can change the numbering style in the section manager. If you want no Page Numbers on a particular page you can use a blank Master Page (or one with no Page Number field but having other elements on it)

Hi again, Yes, I understand the procedure which I followed. However the page # are located on the master page text boxes. So far so good. When I go to look at the pages, there are no page numbers appearing on the pages of the document. Am I missing a step that should activate the page numbering? Opinions? Sorry to keep this topic going but I don't seem to be able to figure it out.

Are there any other things over top of the master page? Do have the Master Page applied to the Pages, and are the Pages and Master Pages the same size?

Could you post the document here?

nothing over the master pages and all are the same size. I had Master page B and c which I deleted. The pages are the same size. I had deleted both the type boxes and did the procedure again. Still no luck. I must be missing something pretty basic. Not sure how to post the document. I also went to master pages> apply to all pages. Nothing.

Didn't add a screen shot, whole screen?

What do you mean by this? – Can't you see the blank JPG you posted above? ("EAAMPLEUBLISHERSPREAD_29.jpg")

You could simply upload the .afpub document. Containing the related master + 1 document page would be sufficient.
