No. The metadata is for the document, not for a piece of a document. Consider, for example, that you might have multiple photos Placed in a document. Only one name could appear in the metadata, but how would the application know which one to use? There are editable fields in the metadata, that you can access via the metadata panel. You could add your photo's name into one of those fields manaully, but I don't think there are any other possibilities.
