PaulEC
Hopefully someone who has moved from Adobe to Affinity may be able to help me with this. A friend who uses Illustrator wants to give me files that I can edit in Affinity and needs to know what file type they should export for best compatibility. The files each contain a number of elements, using several layers, that I need to be able to rearrange. For example, several different leaves and branches that I can rearrange, putting various leaves in patterns on the branches. (Actually the designs are a bit more complicated than that, but I hope you get the idea!) Just using AI files doesn't work as the layers get "mixed up" in groups (unless I'm missing something about importing them.) Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Staff MEB Posted September 4, 2020 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2020 Hi PaulEC, If the Ai file is giving you trouble try asking for an SVG. This may be better or worst depending on project/features used in Illustrator. Without more details I can be more precise but between these two formats there isn't much more you can request to help you out. PaulEC
Thanks, MEB, I'll try that and see how it works.
