HP Envy x360 Ryzen 5 vs Dell XPS 13 7390 Core i5

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Are these two laptops good enough for running Affinity to edit RAW files ?

Trying to decide between these two laptops for my RAW photo editing while travelling. Both have 8gb Ram & 256 SDD only real difference is the processor BUT which has the most accurate screen colours would I even notice the difference between the two ?

Hi @SAW :)

Unfortunately we don't tend to directly endorse specific hardware, as we do not wish to be responsible for your purchasing decision - however I can confirm that both laptops would function with Affinity and you would be hard pressed to notice a difference between the two apps when editing.

In regards to the 2 processors, I recommend using a comparison website, such as the one linked below to compare various different benchmarks and decide which chip suits your workflow best -

From some very surface levelling googling, it appears as though the HP Envy has better 'Delta E' values when calibrated than the 4K panel in the XPS, however the lower resolution panel available in the XPS has much more similar figures to the Envy, so if you were not going for the 4K screen I believe the difference will be hard to perceive.

I hope this helps!
