Hi,

I'm using Affinity Designer 1.8.4.693 on Desktop Windows 10.

Whenever I enter the 2nd digit of any value such RGB or border thickness, I find that after every letter the entry box disappears and only updates one entry.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

First comment: if you're still using 1.8.4.693 you're downlevel. 1.8.5.703 is the current Windows release for all the Affinity applications.

Next, a question: Does it disappear as soon as you type the second digit? Or are you pressing some key after that, and then it goes away?

I don’t understand what you mean by “the input box disappears” (my emphasis).
Can you give us a step-by-step walk-through of exactly what you do to replicate the issue?
State which panel/dialog you are using; state which input field you are using; state which button clicks you do, in which order; state which keys you press, in which order; etc.
Either that or show us a full-screen video of it happening and tell us what we can’t see.
Unless we know precisely what you are doing we can’t know how to try and replicate the issue.

I use an onscreen keyboard but this doesn't have any bearing on this matter ? . I have found that even if I have Affinity Designer running on one half of the screen then I mouse-click with the mouse pointer over another app this results in the same effect

I don’t use an on-screen keyboard so I don’t know what the expected behaviour should be.
Maybe someone who uses an on-screen keyboard on Windows 10 can comment. (It might help if you can say which on-screen keyboard you are using. I don’t know what possibilities there are so I don’t know if there could be differences.)

Can you try using a physical keyboard instead? Does that work?

OK, I'll play. The Windows 10 On Screen Keyboard does exactly that even including the clicks. However, if you go into Options and select Hover over keys then APhoto continues to accept input until you click the Enter button or key. I've tried it on stroke widths and colours so hopefully that'll help the OP

Yeah, good idea. I tried it and that is the issue, however, the issue seems to arise only when the mouse button is activated. I click the mouse to activate each key that I choose to initiate.

If you guys find that by clicking your mouse results in the same issue, then we have an accessibility standards issue here. Software and web designers follow these standards. If this is the case, Affinity may require to update their software?

Looking forward to your feedback 🙂

It's possible that the ADe textbox there in this case then losed it's focus/selected state.

A mouse click inside the value textbox highlights the existing value, I click the mouse button to select a key on my Windows on-screen keyboard. It seems to be that this second mouse-click closes the textbox. Input entry via a physical keyboard works just fine, hence, this isn't a problem for the 'mainstream' user.
