Lorraine McGee
When I went to open Affinity Photo on my iMac, it kept bouncing in the dock. When it finally stopped, it never opened and now I can't force quit it using all the suggestions I found on the internet. It is frozen. I'm using macOS Catalina. Can someone help me? firstdefence
Open Activity monitor and in the search bar type “affin” it should list all the affinity apps running, you can now select Affinity Photo and click on the X to quit or double click Affinity Photo and choose Quit (bottom left) of the popup window Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... walt.farrell
Not a Mac user, but I seem to recall comments that if the application "bounces" in the dock then it's already running, just with all its documents closed. You just use the menu to Open a file or create a new one or quit the application. If the icon is still but has a dot underneath it is open. cmd + Q normally quits the app, cmd + W closes a document. walt.farrell 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... The System Preferences > Dock > Show indicators for open applications option must be ticked for the dot to appear.
