armandhammer
I bought Designer and Publisher directly from Affinity (not the Mac App Store). I'm now switching from a Mac to a PC. Is there any way to revoke/cancel my Mac license and turn it into one that works for the Windows versions?
Staff StevenS Posted August 28, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 28, 2020 Welcome to the Affinity forum @armandhammer, Our software licences are not transferable and you would need to purchase a separate Windows licence to install on Windows device. Each version is sold separately and each has its own licenses. Licence can only be revoked/cancelled within 14 days of the original purchase. armandhammer
That's disappointing and makes Affinity the only paid cross platform software that I own which won't let me transfer my license from my Mac to a new PC. 1Password, Proton VPN, AdGuard, Ableton Live, Reaper, Microsoft Office 365 -- no problem. armandhammer
I hope Affinity considers some sort of fair price for switching platforms, like $10 per app. Paying all over again is ridiculous. The license should be for Mac OR PC.
SIgor420
Yea, I have the same problem. Was using AD on my companies Mac and now I need to switch to PC as I have proper machine. This is a bummer as just now I dont have that amount of money on my PP and I cannot purchase via cards.
Totte
Hold my horses… I'm about to hop over to Mac. I have to buy all three pieces of software all over AGAIN for like €200 in total?! Never heard of a software that has separate licenses cross-platform. We'll see about that, or if I'll just stick with Adobe for now. You don’t have to buy them all over again if you really like the Windows versions that you already have. You can hop over to Boot Camp, install a genuine copy of Windows and then continue to use your existing Affinity apps (and any other Windows software that you’re accustomed to using).
