TheDude94
HI, I have found two different ways to make "Luminosity masks" 1) Creating a b&w image and then duplicating It using "multiply" mode (recursively) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0rXKW5b9qM&t=333s 2) Selecting by luminosity the original layer and then duplicating it (recursively) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sIiNfSBnv0&feature=share Can someone explain the differences? Which one do you use? I would like to use one of them to create masks for exposures merging. Thank you Edited August 26, 2020 by TheDude94

Staff Dan C Posted August 28, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 28, 2020 Hi @TheDude94, Welcome to the forums & my apologies for the delayed response here! Unfortunately I'm not personally familiar with the differences between these two options, so I have forwarded this question to our Photo experts and I'll be sure to respond ASAP. I hope this helps Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Staff Dan C Posted August 28, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 28, 2020 From the looks of these two videos, it appears to simply be the method of which the Luminosity mask is created - with one using the Layers panel and the other using Channel options. These will provide very similar results, however we recommend testing this with your specific images to see which method and result you prefer!
