coderman Posted August 21, 2020 Share Posted August 21, 2020 Hello, This has gotten to the point of ridiculousness unfortunately. These Affinity apps (Photo & Designer) are massive pigs in the performance area; especially compared to even the Adobe line of design applications. I'm running macOS 10.15.6 on a 2019 (7,1) Mac Pro - with 96GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, 12 Core Xeon and the W5700X. Quite a powerful machine, with a very quick SSD. All other apps load instantly, but these Affinity apps take upwards of 30+ seconds on first open which seems like forever by comparison. I've tried resetting the app by holding down ^Control while opening it, and clearing the user data but it makes 0 difference on the next reboot. This has spanned multiple versions. FRworld Posted September 19, 2020 Share Posted September 19, 2020 Hi. I'm also having very long loading times on all affinity apps. I'm using Mac OS 10.15.6 and affinity 1.8.4. They always used to open instantaneously but recently they often take a huge amount of time to open. Their icon bounces in the dock while using a processor thread at 100%. This problem is only affecting the affinity apps and I don't have anything special on the mac, except dropbox, the system is untouched (not even additional fonts). A fix would be greatly appreciated. srg Posted October 5, 2020 Share Posted October 5, 2020 I can confirm that occasionally, and I emphasize occasionally, AP takes a long time to load a file, to the point that I quit AP and reopened hoping that that could resolfv the problem.
