rodj42
Hi, I had photo and designer on PC along with a certain number of brushes etc. Windows updates have just killed my PC (funny , but true) , had enough so I'm moving to mac. these two apps are on my iPad , there is no problem there. The difficulty is that 1 I have the PC downloads available (external disk), but my account only shows PHOTO , no designer etc.I want to install on mac but only have the exes , no keys, only partial trace of buying. Help please
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Your licenses for the Windows versions (or the iPad versions) of the programs do not cover use on Mac. If you switch to Mac you will need to purchase new licenses for the Affinity applications you want to use there. rodj42
Hi Walt, thanks for your reply. I fully understand that with affinity its 1 licence = 1 computer.I now have several licences for an extremely dead PC , never will it see affinity or anything else. Your reply iplies , if I read it correctly, that all my affinity licences died with the PC , I can't uninstall somthing that isn't there anymore .????Not sure that I want to go down that path as I've other soft that can do "the same thing" ; I have no problem with the ipad , that well , I'm leaving that alone. I just have the wish to transfer my dead pc content to a shiny new mac (meaning a mac version and not a pc version ), and NOT have to rebuy. Staff Patrick Connor Posted August 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 21, 2020 @rodj42 Serif have 2 store accounts in your name I wonder if they are both you? Do you by any chance have a gmail account with us (t****bis@gmail.com) as well as the ****@free.rf one you have signed up on the forum. If so your Designer Windows license is in there, along with other content and receipts. Either way it is not possible to convert to a mac license, sorry Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! You can use a license on multiple computers. But they must all be the same OS-family: all MacOS, all Windows, or all iOS, depending on the kind of license you purchased. And as Patrick said, you cannot convert from one OS-family to another. You must either abandon those Affinity applications completely, or repurchase. There are periodic sales, that might help, if you do decide to repurchase. rodj42
Gentlemen both, Patrick first, I had a feeling that I had two accounts because a quick mail search had shown traces of mail towards two , but I haven't done a full search, thanks for confirming, guess I don't need to look now anyway.. Walt, I stand corrected , I had perhaps misunderstood your post , I had assumed it was one for one; thanks for the precision. I guess its a bit like a divorce then , changing os is a bit like changing wives ..........it costs , even when it's not your own fault. Once again a great big , heartfelt thankyou to our friends , nameless, but who realse a series of things called w*****s ( maybe it should onlly be one star); that's life. Subject end , bye for now . walt.farrell
