Scaling Objects does not scale text and strokes

Recommended Posts

I’m building an Icon and want to preview different sizes with objects. But the scaled preview is different to the original.

The background contains zig zag lines. They are not visible in the small preview. But I can fix that by clicking „scale with object“ (which should be default when scaling groups).

There’s the text STREAMTICKET which is vectorized text and a number (which is not vectorized). The numbers are not scaled with the object. And there’s no button like „scale with object“ to do that. I know that I can scale the text with the second handle, but this is not very helpful when working with multiple, differently sized objects.

I often have this problem while scaling groups and objects.

I’ve just done a quick test and scaling a group which contains an Artistic Text layer also scales the text just fine for me in Designer 1.8.4.693 on Windows 10; see attached video.
Would it be possible for you to upload your document? If not, can we see a full-screen screenshot which includes your Layers Panel with the text layer selected?

As for your suggestion for having a default for a group to be set to “Scale with Object”, I think that might be tricky to implement, or at the very least confusing.
Imagine you have a layer in your group which you don’t want to scale with the group. You have “Scale with Object” for that layer set to OFF, as you want it. But, in your scenario, if the group overrides this, how do you say you really don’t want the inner layer to scale? You already have “Scale with Object” set to OFF, so how do you tell the software to override the default of the group scaling for a particular layer?
