Boldlinedesign
Is there a way to export native designer files from the ipad designer app without using icloud? When I go to export a design, why is there no option to export it as a native file? why does it have to be converted to some other format? Alfred
If you want a native Affinity file you need to save the document, not export it. The ‘Save’ option accessed via the three-bar ‘hamburger’ menus on the home screen always saves to the default save location specified under ‘Preferences > General’, but if you choose ‘Save a Copy’ from the Document menu you can browse to any location you like. Boldlinedesign
@Alfred - Thanks for replying - and yes I do understand that is the current limitation - if I want a native file I need to save it. Unfortunately, when I do that I only have two options, one to save to the device itself and the other to save it to icloud.... if I go to change that location, it takes hours or days to catch up. It just doesn't make sense why one can't export a native file

That’s only if you save from the home screen. ‘Save a Copy’ (from the Document menu when a document is loaded) saves the current document to the location you choose at the time. 7 minutes ago, Boldlinedesign said: if I go to change that location, it takes hours or days to catch up. Try it with a new document. As for exporting, it makes every sense to me that it’s reserved for non-native formats, but I’m sure you’re not alone in thinking otherwise.
