jayduggan
Can someone help me out? I have designer for windows. For some reason the when I try to do anything to my design I'm working on, the window goes black. It does not affect the tool bars, just the design window. Most times it comes back to normal when I move my cursor off the screen. I've tried everything to fix my problem. I've attached a video for reference. A little help would be appreciated. Staff stokerg Posted August 20, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 20, 2020 Hi @jayduggan and Welcome to the Forums, Do it only happen with that one file? Could you attach the afdesign file? Also if you go into Preferences for Affinity (Edit>Preferences) and click on Performance, could you post a screenshot of those settings? jayduggan
Thank you for the reply. It does it on all file types i open, even new projects. I've tried everything to try to fix the problem. Everything from uninstalling and reinstalling designer to a full reformat of my computer. I hope you can shed some light. Here is a picture of the settings along with a pic of my computer information. I am also running a Nvidia GTX1050 video cards if it helps. In Preferences, where you have Renderer it's currently set to sue the Intel card. If you click there, do you get the option of your Nvidia card? If so select it, click Close and you'll be asked to restart Affinity. Once restarted, try using it again and let me know the results
jayduggan
Hello. It does give me the option to change to my video card. I have changed it and I still have the same result. Edited August 21, 2020 by jayduggan

Can you try starting a new blank document and see if you have trouble panning around that document? Also could you attach a .afdesign file that us causing you issues? jayduggan
It happens with everything I open. Ive tried new blank docs and all types of image files including .afdesign files. Is is possible to get the previous version to see if it was something in the update?

It depends on which version (Affinity Store or Microsoft Store) you have. Previous versions of the Affinity Store are available here: https://store.serif.com/en-gb/update/windows/designer/1/ Quote Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.5.2636 (Retail) Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 23H2, Build 22631.4317. jayduggan
I have the latest version that I am aware of. Thank you for the link. I will try the 1.8.3 version thus evening.
jayduggan
Ok so, I installed an older version of designer and I still had the same problem. I then installed 1.8.4 over 1.8.0 which fixed my problem. How, I don't know. But now none of my brushes work in pixel persona.
