JGL
When can we get a set of tutorial videos which are up-to-date with the latest version of Affinity Photo? The layout of tools etc has changed since the videos were made. For instance the inpainting tool no longer exists, instead it is a menu item, when you try this on an image file it does not change the layer to a pixel layer as shown on the videos. At least if the layout of tools is changed in updates a list of repositioned tools/menus should be issued each time and reference made to any operations shown in the videos which has changed. As far as I’m aware, the Inpainting Brush Tool has always been in that group in the default layout. The ‘Inpainting’ entry on the Edit menu is a command, not a tool. When invoked, it causes a selected region to be inpainted. walt.farrell and JGL 1 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
Dan C
Hi JGL Sorry to hear you're having trouble following the tutorials - could you please provide a link to the video you're referring to? 18 hours ago, JGL said: when you try this on an image file it does not change the layer to a pixel layer as shown on the videos. This is a setting within View>Assistant Manager... Which can be switched on/off at any time. I hope this helps! JGL

JGL
Thanks to all for your replies. I have now been able to adjust and sort things out. It is strange that with the last update (App Store) the default layout changed. The video tutorial I was watching was Pixel versus image layers. All now working as shown on the video. Affinity revolution is a good recommendation. It has some useful free tutorials as well as the paid for in depth tutorials Dan C and Alfred
