Affinity-Inspiration
Is there a similar help file for the iPad as for the desktop version? https://affinity.help/photo/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/GetStarted/openRaw.html?title=Opening a raw image# I know they are much the same... but they are different. Alfred
I don’t think there’s an online version, if that’s what you mean. Have you tried the built-in Help, accessed via the ‘?’ in the top right-hand corner of the Home screen? Affinity-Inspiration
Thanks, yes, I know about the built in help, but it can’t be used if course if you are actually trying to do something on the same device. oh well. Thanks though. -robert Blende21 and Alfred 2 Quote iPad Mini 6. 256GB. Publisher. Designer. Photo for Mac, PC & iOS @Affinity-Inspiration
AllAppsUser
Was about to suggest booting another instance into the split screen mode, but it doesn't seem to allow that... ho-hum. A work around (I know) is to screen capture the info from the help and place it in your file temporarily. You can "Document menu > Canvas > Unclip Canvas". This will expand the canvas to accomodate the extra image (depending on the layer you have selected - I'm still learning this so the detail might be a bit off). Once you've absorbed the info, you can delete the layer with the screen capture and choose "Document menu > Canvas > Clip Canvas" to return it to the size you initially set up. I ended up Unclipping, moving the help image further off the image I was working on, and unclipping again... I didn't realise you can move your image completely out of view in one go. Then unclip it to reveal it (Interesting, I've learned something). Not ideal, but where there's a will there's often a way, and it might suit the way you want to be able to work here. Hope that helps. G-Ramps
ProDesigner I must admit you put a lot of effort into finding a workaround for an intolerable situation concerning help file access, kudos to you! However going through all those hoops just to view a screen or two of the help files only serves to illustrate the absurdity that exists in accessing help while working on an image. This has been and still is a serious shortcoming for an otherwise excellent product. I cannot believe the serif team cannot fix this problem, and yes it is as real a problem as any bug. They expect you to exit your work, search around help for a solution that may or may not do what you need, then get back into edit mode and see if it does the trick. If not, exit your work and repeat the process. This is absurd. Affinity-Inspiration
Carson
You could paste this into Safari and use it while working directly in Affinity. https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/index.html is this a solution or are you looking for something more? Affinity-Inspiration
Thanks, I know about this one. It’s the iPad version I was looking for 🙂 Quote iPad Mini 6. 256GB. Publisher. Designer. Carson
I see that now. The only other volume of help files I have been able to come across is (and this may be the same issue but I can’t tell) ; https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/34556-affinity-photo-pdf-manual-for-your-enjoyment/ It is the link in the first post. It is over 2.5 years old and they don’t officially recommend it but all the info I have used is spot on. I was able to get it into Documents Readable app and there I can bookmark and highlight. It seems to be easier to search too. I can see no way to extract the iPad help version and tried multitasking a second window of Affinity but that didn’t work either. 😁 about a month ago I did a very intensive search for exactly what you are seeking and this was the best I could uncover.
