Company got attacked with the EKING ransomware

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

This saturday our servers' files have been encrypted by EKING ransomware and I'm afraid that my Affinity product license files might got out in the process. None of my local files were damaged, only the network volumes got encrypted up to the letter "M".

I quickly removed everything related to Affinity from my PC at work.

  • What's the general approach when something like this happens?
  • Should I be worried? Since my license can only be used at most on 5 machines, if people on the internet gets hold of it, will I get blocked somehow when I try to use it later?
  • Can I install the Affinity suite back?

Thank you for any info you can give me.

Out of curiosity, could you log into your Affinity account and deauthorize any computers that used your license illegally? I know with Adobe I can see what computers are activated with my account and if need be can deauthorize it from anywhere.

I don't think Affinity has this feature. I've never seen it / can't find it.
