Mask on group gives different results than using the same mask on individual layers

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I used a mask on a layer group and got the result I wanted. The problem is, that I need to raster individual layers using the mask (affinity transform filter doesn't support masks). But when I copy the mask and assign it to the individual layers, I get an unexpected result. I get the same result when I duplicate the group and enable only one of the layers per copy (like in the attached layerstack(red)).

My question is: Is this normal behavior and I'm missing something? I wasn't aware there would be a difference in individually applied masks and one mask used on multiple layers at once.

Any ideas how I could handle this situation? Would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards
