lsmith
The latest update, 1.8.4.693, breaks registration of wacom stylus position. The stylus contact registers far to the left, rendering Designer totally unusable. This isn't a calibration issue, and no other software is affected. Reported using a Cintiq Pro 24 with current drivers and firmware, brand-new top of the line not old legacy hardware. Windows 10 Build 19041.388. I have a deadline to meet, and now I have to resubscribe to Illustrator. After shilling for this product, now I look like an idiot to my colleagues. If so, and if you purchased directly from Serif, you can uninstall 1.8.4.693 and reinstall 1.8.3 from https://affinity.store/update/windows/designer/1/ rather than switching back to Illustrator. Mark Ingram
We changed the input mechanism for tablets in 1.8.4, but you can revert back to the previous logic by using the --legacy-wintab command line option.
Biscuits
I had the same problem as the OP with the 1.8.4 patch. Also corner tool would not work with the pen at all (worked with normal mouse) Palm rejection was non-existent on cintiq 24 touch Mark's solution worked for me with regard to all of these issues. tyvm EDIT: Using ~~disable~wintab solution here gave better palm rejection for touch Edited August 12, 2020 by Biscuits better solution found
Mark Ingram
Hi everyone, thanks for your patience. In the latest customer beta (1.8.5.703) we have changed the default tablet input method to be the Low Precision mode, the same as in 1.8.3, and added a new Preferences option that allows users to opt-in to High Precision or Windows Ink modes. If you would like to check it out, the details are here: JakobW
