replacing placeholders with data from CSV

Recommended Posts

hi,

When will I finally be able to specify a CSV file in the Publisher when exporting, which replaces placeholders with data from the CSV? So a series letter like function to get unique coupon codes or other data on an exported PDF?

This is really a basic function, just like the creation/arrangement of print sheets. It is always aggravating to have to use another program for this.

best regards,
daniel

This thread is yet another duplicate of several others, most notably:

Yes, and we wait now for over 2 Years.

In another article I read months or years ago that "the Great Scripting Engine" is coming and that everything will be possible.

It's just extremely annoying that no interim solution with simple CSV as datasource and placeholders was published as workaround and that we have to continue working with Adobe for 2 years. The same is the reason for many colleagues not to have switched to Afinity yet.

Sorry for making a new thread after two years - but it looks like the DEVs has muted/hide the "Data merge" thread in their stream.

Affinity Publisher is only a bit over 1 year old; its first official release was on June 19, 2019.

Just "wake up" the original thread by adding a new post. There is no need to create a new thread with exactly the same topic (which, by the way, is against the rules of the forum).
