serg01
Affinity Designer v. 1.8.4.693 (Updated to this version few days ago.) Windows 10 pro 64, 8GB RAM, i3 ------ Problem: Cannot access typography options in Character window. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create new Document A4, CMYK, Fogra27, bleed 3mm. 2. Type "ff" and set font to Georgia. (Artistic text tool or Frame text tool, it doesn't matter, result is the same.) 3. Via upper bar line for text options, click on button "a" to open Character window. 4. Typography options are grey, not accessible. (Except two options (picture typog2.png) when selecting typed charachters.) walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. I have a few more options available in Georgia when I select the "ff" characters: If I deselect the characters, all the Typography options are grayed out, as you mentioned. But I think that's correct, as the options displayed are the ones that are valid (supported by your version of the font) for the characters you have selected. Therefore it makes sense that with no characters selected, no options are available. serg01
What version of Affinity Designer you are using? And font version? This is the font I use (pic)
serg01
I found the solution! The problem was Spelling. I changed to English and it works now. (It was automaticly selected Cyr, but when I changed to Eng that option dissapeared. Weird.) So after all it's probably not a bug. Thanks! I would not have expected that. kenmcd
OpenType ligatures are language specific, so it makes sense. walt.farrell
