AP: Create an Embedded document from existing layers

Recommended Posts

Is that possible?

For example, I have a bunch of different layers (pixels, curves, primitive shapes and so on) in my document, and I want to convert them in an "Embedded document object". How can I do that?

Is there something similar to Photoshop "Convert to Smart Object" command?

Thanks.

Short answer, no. Longer answer... An embedded document is just that, a separate document. You could copy the items make a new document and then 'place' that.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Yeah, that is what I did. Thanks.

There is a nice feature in Photoshop though... you can convert any embedded document (Smart Object) into a LINKED file, so when you open it to make changes, you are actually editing a separate .psd file which exists in your computer.

I guess there is not way to do that in APhoto, but that is another thing...

Embeded document and smart objects are two different things. All thoses features are available in Affinity Photo. Watch the tutorials and read help.

Yes I saw it, I didn't miss that and my answer is still the same. If you know the answer... well.... good luck.
