vito
In affinity publishers the text is always stuck to the left. consequently if I make some bullet points it will look like this: - bla bklablabla blabla But I want it to look like this: - Bla blablablab blabla IT's insane how I can't find something that simple that I should be able to change(make the text more distant from the left or have it as an option in the bullet options) with the simple press of the space key as I've done here Please help me
vito
The image with black square bullet is the way I want it to look. If fact it was copied and pasted from word and it looks like that. The image with the white triangle bullet is the way affinity makes it and when the text goes down it is stuck to the left even if I press space. Help please

prophet
I believe you want "Indent to Here." On the Mac, it's Command-| (the "pipe" character)

Help please What you need to do with your bullet paragraph style is to decide on how much indent you want, add that amount to the left indent value, then set the first line indent value to 0 (zero). prophet
But @MikeW wouldn't it have been much simpler to insert the "Indent to Here" character before the word "In" in your example?

Why wouldn't I want a paragraph style for my bullet--and perhaps a character style for the bullet? What if I have 3 successive bullets, body text, some more bullet paragraphs, followed by ... rinse, repeat? If I have one bullet paragraph, I'll have more later on. It might be immediately simpler, but what happens when you decide that it needs to change, or that you need the same effect (and spacing) somewhere else in your document for consistency. Using Text Styles is generally better. (And you can save them for use in other documents, too.) Where does it not work? How do you have it set up? If it's in a PDF file, did you export it with the options set to include hyperlinks? Can you provide us with a sample document (.afpub file) that illustrates the problem?
