cmscss
Hi There, I'm brand new to Affinity Designer so might be doing something wrong but after placing a logo from illustrator (.eps) it has a white background (see attached image). I've made sure it doesn't have a background colour (swatches) but no luck. I found this thread but no answer that I could see: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/3243-remove-eps-white-background/?hl=eps+white+background Does anyone know how to make placed eps files transparent? Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated. Cheers Ben
Staff MEB Posted August 15, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 15, 2015 Hi cmscss, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Have you tried to double-click the logo then go to menu File ▹ Document Setup..., Colour section and check Transparent background? justwilliam 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images
Stephen_H
Simple solution… you'll see that the imported EPS is called an Embedded Document in the layers palette. Double-click on that imported EPS / Embedded document and it will open up into its own working window. (the actual object, not in the layer palette) In the Preferences window of that document, turn on the transparent background. Save and close that window. Your imported EPS now has no background... Ta-daaaa.
